Our limited edition cards are back at your Anchorage Public Library. Cards are available with a $5 minimum, in-person, donation to the Friends of The Library when you visit any of our five Anchorage Public Library locations.
As always, our classic APL card is FREE to any resident of the Municipality of Anchorage.

When can I purchase a limited edition “The Child” Library card
Anytime, while supplies last.
Can the card be purchased online?
No. Limited edition cards are only available, in-person, at one of our five Anchorage Public Library Locations.
Can I get a limited edition card if I already have an APL Card?
Yes. Anyone may purchase a Limited Edition card with a $5 minimum, in-person, donation to the Friends of The Library.
Can I keep my library card number?
Yes. Limited edition cards will automatically come with a new number. If you would like to keep your number please let staff know so they can accommodate.
Can I still get a free library card?
Yes. Classic APL cards are always free as a service of the Municipality of Anchorage.
Is there a limit to the number of limited edition cards I can purchase?
No. However, residents are limited to one public library card/account per person.
Can kids have limited edition cards?
Yes. Anyone may purchase a Limited Edition card with a $5 minimum, in-person, donation to the Friends of The Library.
Can I gift a limited edition card?
No. Library cards must be applied for in person by the card holder. If the card is for a minor child, the child must be present with an adult caregiver.
How long will cards be available?
