April 7 Municipal Election

  • The regular municipal election will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.
  • To be eligible to vote, you must register with the State of Alaska Division of Elections no later than 30 days before Election Day.​​​ Register to vote or update your registration. For more information, call the Alaska Division of Elections at 907-522-8683 or email the Anchorage - Region II Elections Office at electionsr2@alaska.gov .
  • This election is a Vote at Home/Vote by Mail election. Ballot packages will be mailed to qualified, registered Anchorage voters at least 21 days before election day.
  • Ballots can be returned to a Secure Drop Box, an Anchorage Vote Center, or by mailing through the U.S. Postal Service. 
  • ​If you will be away and unable to receive your ballot at your registered mailing address during the 21-day period before Election Day, you may request that a ballot be sent to a temporary address by completing the Application to Vote at a T​emporary Ad​dress​​​​​. Applications to vote at a temporary address must be received by the Municipal Clerk's Office by 5:00 p.m., one week before election day.
  • Anchorage Vote Centers will open March 31, 2026.

Can I vote at the library?

No Municipal Election drop boxes are located inside Anchorage Public Library buildings. 

Secure drop boxes are located in the parking lots for the Loussac, Chugiak-Eagle River, and Gerrish (Girdwood) libraries, and in the Clark Middle School parking lot (adjacent to the Mountain View Library). The Muldoon Library does not have a drop box.

Loussac Library is an Anchorage Vote Center for the April 7 Municipal Election. Voting at this location will start March 31, 2026 (see hours below). 

The Eagle River Town Center is an Anchorage Vote Center for the April 7 Municipal Election. Voting at this location will start March 31, 2026 (see hours below). This is the same building as the Chugiak-Eagle River Library, but voting is NOT taking place in the library. 

If you need assistance voting, if you need to replace a lost or damaged ballot, if you didn't receive a ballot, or if you would like to vote your mailed ballot, you may vote at an Anchorage Vote Center. Vote Centers are open approximately nine days before Election Day.
