Eligibility

You can vote in Alaska if you:

  • Are a United States citizen
  • Are 18 years of age or older
  • Have been a resident of the state and of the district where you are going to vote for at least 30 days before an election
  • Have registered to vote by the registration deadline and are not registered to vote anywhere else

November 5 General Election

This is a regular, in-person election. This will be a ranked choice ballot.

  • Sunday, October 6, 2024 - Deadline for voters to register to vote or update their registration.
  • Monday, October 21, 2024 - Absentee In-Person, Early Vote, Electronic Transmission and Special Needs voting begins.
  • Saturday, October 26, 2024 - Deadline to receive absentee by-mail applications.
  • Monday, November 4, 2024 - Deadline to receive absentee electronic transmission ballot applications.
  • Tuesday, November 5, 2024 - Election day, absentee ballots must be postmarked by today.

Can I vote at the library?

No Anchorage Public Library locations are open for early or absentee voting in the General Election. Please refer to the list below for absentee and early voting sites. 

  • Early voting is available in the Eagle River Town Center (same building as the library). Only Chugiak-Eagle River ballots (Districts 23-24) will be available at this location. 
  • Loussac Library is the polling location for voters in precinct 14-375 (North Midtown No. 6) on election day.
